Skid Steers: An Ingenious Invention
Multitask excavator could be the best synonym for the “skid steer”, one of the most used and most practical equipments used in the construction field.
If you’ll do a little research you’ll find out, surprisingly, that that the first usage for the skid steer was to clean the animal waste from a farmers’ barn. So it certainly not wrong to say that the skid steer is among the most ingenious inventions of the 50’s and 60’s.
Meanwhile skid steer has evolved to becoming a modern vehicle and an essential item especially when performing works that require attention to details, it’s an instrument most often used in construction, demolition or for arranging terrains.
Because of its size, the skid steers is more appreciated as an excavator. It can dig in very narrow spaces without causing major damage, a fact appreciated by anyone who knows to manage a business. It requires very little space for parking and it reduces the material volume of work.
You might say that it is a really big toy as it is one of the easiest tools to handle, a sled on wheels.
For those who don’t know it yet, the Skid Steer is also called a Pirouette, because it can be turned very easy, no effort from your part needed, with an incredible stability.
The thing that specifically characterizes the Skid Steer is its diversity: the front can vary in terms of attachments used (blade, rake, bucket etc.) and control is achieved using both your hands and feet, like a regular car, which is why you could give him a good score in Chapter comfort and commodity.
Small but powerful, he can do more tasks that an excavator could do, as it will find them more difficult to perform. The skid steer is considered to be a very good ally in any job, easily operated by anyone, without requiring a lot of knowledge. For this particular reason it enjoys high popularity even in times of economic crisis.
In conclusion its low maintenance costs make the skid steer a wise choice for anyone who is in the business.
